Takegawa has now released both a 5 speed and 6 speed Transmission for Z125 .... hmmm.
6 Speed close ratio on the Z, that would be nice.
Always in the powerband.

It's nice that first gear is a little taller than the stock ratio but too bad 5th in the 5 speed is shorter than 4th in the stock tranny. 6th in the 6 speed appears to be equal to 4th in ratio in the stocker. If they had made the final gear slightly taller than the stocker I think it would be a winner. I guess that can be rectified with sprocket changes. Hmmm.... If I ever blow up the engine in this thing........ lol....

The 5th or 6th gear ratio won't make your bike slower or faster.

Because sprockets dictate what your final Gear Ratio is, regardless of the transmission.

But, what the close ratio tranny does is keep you in the powerband all the time.

Plus if you have the power...... you can over gear your bike (with sprockets) so that 6th gear becomes an overdrive, for interstate driving.

And 4th and 5th would be your primary around town.

It all comes down to having a larger selection of sprockets you can choose from that won't bog down your bike.
