So I'll be swapping sprockets next as the z will be a budget friendly stunt build, I'm trying to stick to just swapping the rear sprocket as swapping the front puts more wear and tension on them and the chain (not budget friendly) so my basic question is, with out buying a 3 piece 420 kit. Do I need to swap a new chain to add 4 teeth on the rear and if so how many links?

Ps sorry for all the questions, I did try searching for answers before wasting yalls time

Your not wasting anyone's time. That's why a lot of us are here.

With 14/34 you will have a 2.428 gear ratio and you will need a 102 link chain. Unless your chain right now is stretch out and if you can move your axle forward 9/16" now it just might fit

If you go with a 13/32 you will have a 2.461 gear ratio and you can use the stock 100 link chain

You will never notice a .033 gear ratio difference and a counter sprocket is cheaper than a new chain
