I’d like to know if anybody has swapped an oem rear shock from another bike…for instance: a popular mod on Kawasaki Versys 650 bikes was to swap the stock Versys rear shock with the OEM rear shock from the ZX6R. Instant performance gain with little $$ spent. Anybody successfully improve the Z suspension without throwing +$1000 at it?

Just make sure you buy from a known or reputable store.

Are you upgrading the front or putting preload caps in? That's the real shitty part of this bike is that front suspension is a pogo stick. I highly recommend you upgrade that first. First week of owning the bike I took it to the track and a few laps in after gaining confidence went into a chicane. Left then flicked bike to the right for the second turn and my front wheel was off the ground.... Had to straighten out and run outside of the course.

I am running the onlins i got for a steep discount on a black friday sale in 2017 or 2018 for both front and rear.

Let me see if hyper pro has an option for the z125. It usually a cheaper upgrade that (depends on the price and bike) is sometimes better than an ohlins.
