How's it going everyone. I would like to ask if my chain slack is normal for a z with 260 miles. I looked at the manual and the normal slack should be .8-1.4 inches but it seems like mine is rubbing in the piece of plastic that looks like a chain guide to me but I can be mistaken. This is how it came from the factory and I have not made any changes on them.

I made a video while it was in a rear stand.

Thanks in advance.

Chain should be tightened if when in the tight spot and u push up from the bottom it touches the swingarm
Oh and my dealer tightened mine 4 free the first time if it got slack b4 the first serves perhaps you should ask and just get a feel for it after it's adjusted

What does the book say? Something about .8-1.4" slack. measured at the bottom loop, bike on sidestand. Do what it says, adjust to the tight end.

I've done almost* all my bikes that way for 30 years, never had a problem

*a few were shaft drive.
