No Check engine light

Check engine light should go on when key is first turned to ON position and all meter lights first come on.
And check engine light should go OFF after the motor starts.
Has it always been like that or is this a new problem ?
Does the engine start and run fine.
What year and model do you have. A picture would be best if you can add one

I just bought second hand Z125 pro 2017 from motor shop and when I arrived home I notice that when I turned to ON the check engine light is always OFF

Never seen one stop working so I'd test and see if CEL light has been bypassed
Unplug the o2 sensor and start the bike and the CEL should come on while the engine is running
If it doesn't come on then the CEL has been bypassed/disabled or not working.

Plug the o2 sensor back in
If it did come on it will stay on until all 4 ride have been completed and then go off on its own
And just the CEL is not working for the start-up function
