Hey everyone! I recently got a 2017 kawasaki z125 pro and i’m loving it so much. i was wondering what does a big bore kit do? does it make it faster slower? would that be something to invest in? and i was also wondering about an exhaust, i wanna make it louder what do y’all suggest?

Congratulations on getting the best of all the minibikes.

A Big bore kit will increase the displacement of your motor thereby leading to more power and torque. This should increase off the line power and top speed. Read up on this forum to see what people are actually getting from this mod.

The exhaust is a much cheaper and easier mod. What you get there is more and different sound.

For what it’s worth I put thousands of miles on my 2018 as a commuter with nothing more than a tail tidy mod and had not a single issue with the bike. I also never expected it to be “fast’. That’s what full size bikes are for.

i love my bike it’s perfect for me i understand bigger bikes for more speed,, but i still need to get comfortable with it.. and the exhaust ik a lot of people want to keep it quiet, but since it’s my first bike i wanna make it loud, not obnoxious obviously, but loud enough for the dumb drivers to hear me so they don’t hit me.

If you have not taken a rider class , Please do so .

Never think that a LOUD exhaust will make you safer. Get your skills up so you can be safer rider.

The BEST money I have spent was ON ME , doing training

be safe out there (y)

i’m doing my best watching everyone else, i know that’s what to watch for. id love to take a class but they’re all 2-3+ hours away from me plus they only accept intermediate.. i’m willing to ride my bike that far but not at the same time.. it’s worth the training but that drive might add n hour or so

I think from a complexity standpoint stick with just doing an exhaust as you will need more than just a kit for a big bore (you need a fuel mapping system or custom ecu) plus if done incorrectly you will def have huge reliability issues.

A exhaust is def okay. With an exhaust and air intake I def have slightly better pep than stock of the line, but I do have a fuel mapping system to assist in that finding that little bit extra

I have to say on being louder isn't the answer to being seen. Drive defensively and assume everyone is out to get you.
