Looking to upgrade suspension

691 Views 9 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  xenotactics
Is Ohlins the only option? I just like to cruise around town, do wheelies, and occasionally ride 2 up. I weigh 155 lbs. My bike is stock other than bars. Please give me advice on whats out there for suspension upgrades that are not going to break the bank. Also, is it worth getting an amazon exhaust and pairing it with the O2 delete while keeping the stock airbox setup or should I just stay stock? (Stock runs great btw)

Racing Bros shock & fork cartridges works well.

hyper pro sells fork springs

Nitron sells a shock

Plus ohlins and racing bros sell both a front kit and shock

There is also yss shock but alot of fakes out there from yss that it might be hard to know if you are buying a real one or not.

The price on the Hyper Pro fork spring kit is good. The price on every rear shock other than the YSS is crazy. I guess i was just looking for a cost effective improvement for the stock suspension
If you can find a real yss then you are golden because they are cheaper than an ohlins.

I think from a cost perspective the hyper pro forks is def a great price also.

Well, doing some online research, YSS doesn’t list a rear shock for the Z125 pro on their website. Amazon lists a model number MK302-240TL-06 but I couldn’t find it on the YSS website. I google the model number and I find the same shock for $108 on a website called bikerzbits.com. At this point, everything YSS is so sketchy.

So after doing research(there really isn’t a lot of suspension info out there for the Z125), it looks like I will be settling on a full Racing Bros setup. I need help deciding on a rear shock. Is the shicane HLR overkill for the street? Will the Mono R suffice? Both shocks have the same exact description(which I’m sure is a typo) so I’m looking for some feedback from real world users
Looks like the shicane can do rebound adjustments

So can the Mono R. Rebound adjustment is right above the spring.
I was going to order the suspension last night but I decided to contact Racing Bros first. It looks like they offer 3 different spring rates but US websites(DROW, Steady Garage) only offer 2. I want it best setup for my weight
