When Kawasaki debuted the Z125 baby-bike we all knew they had taken aim square at Hondas Grom/MSX125. The specs are surprisingly similar as well.

Both use an air-cooled single cylinder, both offer a 4 speed manual (and an automatic in the Z125s case)and they're both even about the same size (the Kawasaki .6 inches taller in the seat)

Great power specs, now all we need to see is exactly how it distributes power through a power band chart.

By automatic, does that mean I won't need to gear shift?

I think so... If it was shiftable DCT they would of said, not sure if its a twist and go tranny like the CVT scoots or if it has actual gears...

No you still need to select a gear but you don't have a clutch. you release the throttle and shift.

Thanks! I didn't figure it out until recently that there's the full automatic shifter where I don't need to do anything and then there's the one where I don't need to use the clutch lever.

If you don't need to bring in the clutch lever to shift, why is it still on the Z125? Or can you choose between full manual and semi automatic driving mode?

See photo. Z125 semi-auto doesn't have a clutch lever.
