Im sure its age, and where you live dictates the cost
I know when I was still new riding my sport bike had to be around $1800 per year
they claimed it was because it costs a lot to replace the plastics if you crash it
I may have only had a couple years worth of riding back then

I'm paying $188 per year, $200 deductible full coverage through geico

on bikes I have liability on I only pay around $10 per year
I think I've been riding for around 13 years now

this is my newest bike, and is higher then my 2012 too
I was sort of hoping because of small engine size it would be cheaper

I was just quoted $344/year through Progressive with a $100 comprehensive deductible and $500 collision deductible. 40 year old male with a clean record in Portland, OR. OUCH!!! I haven't purchased the bike yet, so I'm just shopping around. That's WAY higher than I expected...

$360 a year and that's with $50 deductible both collision / comprehensive and $300k of liability/ uninsured /underinsured . nice thing about your motorcycle policy is it will help cover under certain conditions accidents that are not one your motorcycle. I knew someone who got hit by a car walking through a cross walk and the motorcycle insurance picked up almost $250K in medical bills due to him having high underinsured/ uninsured coverage as the driver didn't have insurance and ran to the Philippines to avoid prosecution.

Wow...I'm definitely jealous of the low premiums/deductibles people are reporting in this thread! I wonder how much the location in which you live really affects the premium? I live in the heart of Portland, OR, so perhaps that's part of the reason. I did get a quote WITHOUT collision, which of course was almost 50% less than the original quote. I think I will likely forgo the collision coverage, but I'll definitely keep the uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage.

50K/100K/25K liability with 500 comp/collision and 50/100K uninsured is 179 a year. I'm 47 with multiple bikes and cars with Progressive.

The only reason I have comp/collision is to cover theft. After blinging this thing out I would hate for it to wonder off while I am in the store grabbing a dr pepper...

If you feel that you're motorcycle insurance rates are too high, then you'll be happy to know that there are plenty of things you can do to lower your monthly premiums and get your insurance bill under control again. One way that you can reduce your motorcycle insurance rates is by downsizing your motorcycle from a cost as well as a performance standpoint. Motorcycles that have bigger engines and travel at a higher rate of speed are considered to be more risky. Another way that you can reduce motorcycle insurance rates is by opting for a higher deductible. There are also some other areas from where you can reduce you insurance cost, I got info from this reference. Still looking for cheap motorcycle insurance? If possible get multiple quotes and do take help from the internet.

318 for the year full coverage $500 deductible. Will be cheaper once I get my endorsement. Class availability and kid events have been keeping me from that. Coverage matches all my cars. I'm sure I could have went cheaper but meh

I pay $99 a year for full coverage with $300 deductibles through Geico. Play with their website coverage options. It costs me the same for full as it would for liability only. $100,000 worth of property damage costs the same as $5000, and it also cost me nothing to add under-insured coverage. It was like the cheapest a policy could cost through them was $99, and they would adjust their prices on every piece to add up to that.

I added this to my Geico insurance that cover my R1. Changed the designation to state that my Z is the primary bike ridden. My insurance went down by adding the Z onto it. $20.32 a month or about $245 a year. The R1 only has theft and basic coverage on it though.
