I just bought my fiancé a z125 to learn how to ride. I messed with the idle (turned it up to 3k rpm to make it easier for her to feel the bike move when she lets out the clutch) but now the bike bogs out when you roll on the throttle. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

3000 RPM is way too high. I would keep it under 2000, preferably around 1600. It's bogging because RPMs are only part of the story. It's not getting enough air to launch properly.

One thing you might want to try is to have her ride in some grass, clutch out, 1st gear, and let her see how slow it can go. These bikes can ride REALLY slow without using the clutch. That might help her get more comfortable with low RPMs.

Either way, she is going to have to learn to give a little throttle at launch. These bikes can launch with no throttle, but it's probably not something a beginner is going to be able to do smoothly or reliably.
