I have some BMX pegs that I was thinking of cutting down with a bandsaw and possibly widening the hole with a drill press to fit on the Z axles. Was curious if anybody has ever attempted something similar before I waste my time.

Sounds doable. The only problem with that type of slider is that you can't use the cotter pins anymore unless you have the type of setup like the woodcraft where the screws that hold in the delrin slider covers are also doubling as nut retainers.

My own foray into DIY sliders has been on other bikes, (supermotos) but only those that had hollow axles. In that case I've used threaded rod with skateboard wheels. You have to be picky about the wheels though and get extra hard wheels because regular urethane grip too much.

I have done this, but not on the Z. I did it on a zongshen 125 pitbike. I did both the front and rear axles, also made uhmw sliders that were held in with a grub screw.

they worked great, but got a helluva bruised achilles when a wheelie got away from me and the rear sliders smacked me on its way through a loop
