I need to narrow the handlebars 2 inches on each side so the bike will fit on the front rack on my custom teardrop trailer. Will be using this as a trail bike for non-aggressive riding.

I intend to install the Rox risers. Would there be any problem with removing the grips on both ends of the handlebars and trimming off a couple inches and then reinstalling the grips?

Bars are meant to be cut, so no problem there, but before you do, measure how far you can move your controls inward without hitting the bend.

The stock bars you can not cut 2" off each.(see pic n MNNTHBX post) In case you haven't considered it yet by loosening the bars and drop them back might give you the same extra room if your going straight in to the tear-drop i'm assuming. and the risers would give you even more room due to they will pivot back at the triple clamp as well. Yes, a pain but its only 4 bolts and how often do you really need to do it ?
.
Or space the front with a 2x4 / 2x6 / 4x4 or whatever it takes to work .
