Primary reduction ratio: 3.409 (75/22)

Gear ratios:

1st: 3.000 (36/12)

2nd: 1.938 (31/16)

3rd: 1.350 (27/20)

4th: 1.087 (25/23)

Final reduction ratio: 2.143 (30/14)

How does that compare to the Grom?
From Gearing Commander: MSX125/Grom STOCK gearing

Grom: Gearing Commander: Motorcycle Speed, RPM, Chain & Sprockets Calculator

Primary Reduction Ratio: 3.350

Gear Ratios:
1st: 2.500 (35/14)
2nd: 1.550 (31/20)
3rd: 1.150 (23/20)
4th: 0.923 (24/26)

Final Reduction Ratio: 3.07 (14/43)

Note that the Grom's 4th gear is an overdrive gear, so that gives it a slight advantage as far as top speed goes since it would run at lower rpms per mph in 4th than the Z125.
Z125 has shorter/lower gearing overall tha the Grom, so should should accelerate better.

I'm sure Ari and Zack on motorcyclist online will have a Z125 soon and do a speed test and review comparison against the Grom.....

This is going to get exciting, acceleration is one are just about anyone can agree on for improvement which if done right can do some good for Kawi getting into this space, possibly making it a much more fun street toy than the Grom.

Thanks for the comparison. I expect the Z125 to pull smoothly to redline for great passing performance compared to the Grom. All we need now is a comparison test.

I believe that the Final Reduction Ratio might be incorrect. I think the rear sprocket is a 34 vs a 43 which would yield a 2.43 Final Reduction Ratio.
