I've never understood electric bicycles. Either get a motorcycle, or ride a bike.

Probably because you don't need a license to ride an electric bicycle. Great for short distances and for those living in the city.
I'll never own one because you can't go on the highway.

The current state of things where electric power is being used on 2 wheels makes a lot of sense since it's just the average folk that want to get around for cheap and and efficiently, not sure how enthusiast will react to it as segments that appeal to them finally get one, but progress in those segments might take a while to pick up.
