I rode mine to a bar ,parked with the Harleys (where I used to park my Harley). Someone walks into the bar and hollers " Who's the cute one outside?" I raised my hand and a bunch went outside to check it out. I never would have expected that. The other day I was camping and my big ole 125 was just sitting there and I was having a cold one and this lady told me my bike was cute. They checked it out and left. Anyone else get any attention?
Lol... I was at my local dealer over the weekend and they had 5 Zs sitting there. A few KRTs and a few regular Pros. Guy and Gal walk over and she comments on how cute they are. He asked if that's something she would want and for a minute she seemed to entertain the idea. No idea if he was just playing with her or serious but I could see the cute comments regardless.
Don't lose focus though, they are definitely just checking the bike out most likely lol
It isn't a scooter, I don't ride with my knees together. My wife has a scooter thats why I didn't buy one. The Z125 is just a hair manlier than a scooter, I'll accept a hair. . I used to refer to my Road king as a scooter. But It's fun and I don't mind the cute comments.
Yeah, for sure this thing is far more amazing than any scooter. It's when you see people riding scooters you question why they wouldn't just get a Z125, Grom or Benelli! Granted I know a scooter has its place for some people but for the majority taking it on the roads? Why not go this route.
May be the area I'm in but riding around on mine I get people leaning out their windows asking me how fast it goes and every other question. Especially in traffic or at a red light. I did have a dude on a 1 ton Harley try to overcompensate by challenging me to a race at a gas station. Ok man... you do you.
I get a lot of comments and some of my butthole friends rib me about my fat butt riding a mini bike but I'm having fun and I've always done whatever I wanted regardless of what people think. Just be yourself! I've had more fun on my Z than my Bandit 1200 so fun can definitely come in small packages!

When I saw mine on the show room floor I remarked that "that's sorta cute"..the floor people didnt think much of my comment, but I ended up buying it. About 8K miles later and still love it.
I heard that when I rode Harley's . Theres a ***** in every crowd. Just have another beer and talk to someone else. I think these thing are cool as can be.
i've gotten the cut comment a few times so far.
i showed mine stock to my brother's buddy that rides larger liter bikes. at first he said it was cute, i let him ride around the block and he said he didn't think he would like it but actually kinda did. then i did fender elim, intake, exhaust, hd clutch, and sprocket, he coulcn't believe how much it changed, said he would ride one around town.
I think that's the problem in general, people judge it before even trying it or seeing it in person not realizing how capable it is considering its size but moreover just how fun it is. I will say I'm not a fan of riding it at 55MPH with wind bursts... otherwise it's a blast.
There are far too many riders who need a bigger penis and therefor gravitate towards bigger more powerful machines (the bigger penis). Doesn't matter what type of bike you ride, somewhere there will be someone claiming they need more power!
I was at a stop light yesterday and some older lady said "OMG! That thing is so cute! What is it, a 600?" lol I don't think she was trying to be funny and actually just didn't know. She walked over and said she was going to have to look it up online because it's the perfect size.
If it was a 250 and would do 70mph in a stock form, then it might be the perfect size for many people. Or they could go water cooled and a 150cc FI engine and probably get the power needed for reliable 70mph duty.
I don't know, these bikes feel rather squirrelly doing 60mph on a really windy day from my own personal experience and not to my liking. I find myself slowing down to about 45 just to feel 'safe' on days when winds are gusting super hard. My buddy who rides much bigger bikes says it's like that with any bike though? I'm guessing an 800lb monster feels much more stable than one that is 225 however.
They feel squirrelly because I think they could use a small amount more trail on the front wheel, haven't fully decided yet. Haven't had my Z over about 55 yet, and even then it was indicated speed so who knows how fast I was really going.
As far as wind, they all pretty much get hammered in one way or another. I've had bikes at 45 degree angles going straight because the wind was blowing so hard, it's not a comfortable situation. That said, not sure what my giant Ultra Classic does in a strong cross wind, might not even notice it more than I would in my car. My Buell gets pushed around a lot.
There is plenty of room for a horizontal 250 engine in this frame, it might gain 20 pounds or so, but it wouldn't be a lot. I bet a CRF150R motor would fit if you ditch the airbox. Would be hard to deal with the EFI since the CRF150R is a carb motor. Would need the 300 injector to handle the power increase, and a real ECM like the Hoedar and probably some other fooling around to get it to work.
I'm going to make my Z look Fierce! Not sure how I'm going to do that, but that's my goal!
I have gotten that "thing looks awesome" on track days with bigger bikes around. And I've let a few girls ride it and they love it, it definitely can bring a smile to everyones face. Its picking up girls for me
One of the women at work reckons I look like a Ninja turtle.
I’m thinking what’s she talking about then I realise what she means.
Green bike, rider with backpack = NINJA TURTLE 😂
