I got 98mpg at first too. Then, once I corrected the speedo, I got around 80-85mpg. Now with all the work, I've done (cam, intake, exhaust, aracer ecu, and other things) its leveled out between 70-73mpg consistently and I ride WOT everywhere I go. I'm sure I could get it higher if I didn't ride around town like a maniac but that would be no fun.
Slightly OT, but are you implying that the fast speedo reading also runs up the odometer faster? That would make sense but seems kinda douchey on Kawasaki's part.
Speedo is about 5% off. If that's the case take 5% off the mpg calculated. We can't be pinching pennies that tight, are we? Yes I know that's about 4mpg.
Hmm, just sorta annoying. I guess there's a reason titles read "indicated mileage" and not "actual".
Not pinching pennies, just looking for accuracy. The Z is nearly $0.06/mi cheaper than my daily. Woohoo! *rolls eyes* I could save more money by skipping one beer on the weekend.
I'm 214 and I'm only getting about 77mpg out of mine. I go about 100 miles and put in about 1.25 gallons or so. I think about 150 and I'd be out of gas.
