Hey everyone, we just added this forum to our Sponsor lists.
Hopefully VS will have the transition done soon.

The Z125 Pro is our newest Project bike.
So we will being doing a bunch of Videos, write-ups, reviews, and general discussion about the bike.
We've had our bike for a little while now, and had a chance to put some miles on it.
So far it's been a blast.
Since many of us, had a Grom or have a Grom, it's a good bike to compare to the Z125.
If nothing more then just having a baseline.

The bikes are very similar in some ways, and quite different in others.

Over the next few months, we will go over all our findings, and experiments, and modifications.
What works, what doesn't. How it works.
Is it worth it or Is it not.
Reliability, Maintenance, and much more.

SOME NEW SHOES.

Michelin PURE SC.

With proper Sized Rubber. ;-)

In addition the taller tire will also help gear the bike down a little so it's not reving out so quickly and easy.

Michelin PURE SC 120/70 & 130/70

So both are wider making the bike feel more stable.
And the Rear is taller, which brings the revs down a little.

This bike needs the revs brought down badly. It's so over geared.

Down and Dirty, GP Shift setup.
Weld a Tab on the Top side of shift pedal.
Paint it black.
Switch to Proper Heim Joint Linkage.
Done.

The Stock Airbox is very restricting. The inlets for the Airbox are barely the size of your finger.

So getting rid of the airbox, and installing a Chimera Short Stack Ram Air intake was a must.

This setup has worked great on the Grom over the past 2 + years... and the concept works just as great on the Z125.

This setup also saved over 1lb of weight, while increasing airflow and giving the bike a little extra grunt.

More Air = More Power.

The K&N Filter is washable and will out last the bike... so it pays for itself over time.

Another bonus is it retains the stock Crank Breather tube.

All in All it's a very quick and easy installation.

One of the first mods we do is a full system.

Yoshimura has a long standing reputation on being one of the best exhaust.
The Z125 Yoshimura exhaust is proudly Made in the USA.

It Saves approx. 4lbs of Weight
Sounds amazing
Looks fantastic
Gives the bike a little kick in the pants.

Overall it's a win, win.

Installation was very easy and straight forward.

Cari walks you through the install step by step.

Some Great Sound clips included in the end.

KOSO MIRROR Upgrade.

Add a little flair and style.

The Mirrors match the Lines of the bodywork much better then stock.

Less Bulky looking.

OEM FIT.

Installed the OTB See Through Cam Cover.
Definitely, a unique look and very cool factor seeing the internal engine parts through the glass.
Specially when the bike is on.

The stock footpegs are way up, but need to be moved back for more comfortable riding position.

So Driven Rear Sets, were a must.

Not only do they look great, and work great, they MADE IN THE USA......... and are fully adjustable so you can customize them to your personal preference.

Once installed, the ergonomics and feel of the bike were much more to our liking.

We wanted to have some nicer looking levers.

Something that was customizable to our personal preference.

So, installing some SBL Levers, made the most sense.

Easy to install, fully adjustable for your hand size and looks fantastic.

Plus they offer foldable options, which really can save your hide if your bike ever falls over.

We wanted to clean up the rear of the bike by integrating the turn signals into the Tail Light.

A quick easy solution was a LED Tail Light w/ Integrated Turn Signals.

- Easy to install.
- Super Bright LED Lights
- Much brighter then stock.
- Cleans up the rear of the bike by eliminating the Stock Signals.
- Fully programmable with Lots and lots of different options and settings to make it Customized for your preference.

We switched to LED Signals and Integrated Tail Light.
If you do that, you need to do some changes to the wiring so the signals actually blink correctly.

IMPORTANT NOTE: After doing this Mod, Your dash mounted Turn Signal light, will no longer illuminate when the signals are on. Not a big deal to most. But, something to consider BEFORE doing this mod.

We've been spoiled over the past 20 years with good suspension.

So swapping over to an Ohlins Rear Shock was a must.

Custom setup for rider weight.

You get a more comfortable ride. Better handling. Just makes the overall experience better.

And it's super easy to install.

Figured we would try out some different exhausts, to Compare the differences.

Next we tried out the All new TWO BROTHERS TARMAC Full System.

This thing sounds....... AMAZING. Specially after we removed the db killer.

Since we changed tires sizes, and sprockets, our speedometer was off.

Even bone stock, it seems off.

We wanted to ensure an Accurate Speedometer, and Odometer.

So installing a SRD module was a must.

This way can ensure the Speedometer matches Real GPS Speed, and our Odometer miles are not inflated.

So now that Dyno Jet Finally released their Powecommander V, this was our next step.

The best solution to get the Fuel mapping spot on.

This will also help with the Rough starting that seems to plague the Z125 Pro

There are other solutions for Fuel Controls, which will work.

But, we've always preferred the PCV for a few reasons....... or advantages it has.

1) The PCV offers Both FUEL and Ignition Timing adjustments
2) The PCV offers Rev Limit increase (if you desire)
3) The PCV offers Add-on plug-play quick shifter modules
4) The PCV offers Add-on Autotune Module (Self Mapping - LIVE TIME)
5) The PCV offers Add-on LCD Display or POD Display for adjustability out while riding.
6) Dyno Jet offers a Map database with different combinations of exhaust / Filters, which continues to grow weekly as they get more maps made

The Autotune self mapping is a huge bonus. Not only does it make recommendation to map changes........ it actually applies them LIVE TIME for a true "SELF MAPPING" system.

So it can adapt to subtle changes in the Air Temp, Gas quality, Barometric pressure, Altitude changes....etc..
OR, if you make new modifications to your bike, it will also self adjust.

We are making custom maps for different exhaust applications as well.

This is a very nicely done video. I really like the clear way you show the cable routing and wire connectors, and I especially like the way you dwell on that "piercing" type "tap" connector for the throttle position sensor tap.

That is really important, particularly to anyone with a mechanic's background, as pro mechanics are very reluctant to disturb factory wiring because that almost invariably degrades weatherproofing, resistance to vibration, and long-term durability. I was happy to see that the Power Commander kit uses the "screw-in" type tap, which does far less damage to the conductor being tapped, than the "suitcase" type taps do. I personally favour a strong solder joint and sealing via heat shrink tubing, but the wiring bundle being tapped here makes that pretty hard or impossible to do. The screw-in tap at least minimizes the damage.

Nice job, and very helpful to anyone wondering what a Power Commander does and how it is installed, customized, and can be enhanced via Power Commander options.

Now that the PCV is all good, our next step is installing the Autotune.

This will allow us to make custom maps for different exhausts.

Which of course we will gladly share to all our Customers who purchased a PCV from us.

We got a ton of them out there to customers, and so far nothing but positive feedback.

It's been working great on our Z125 Project bike.
